How do I get my hair to do this....(pictures)?

So my hair is long, thick and wavy. I can straighten it fine but whenever I try to do anything else with it, I can't get it to work. Like the bangs in the top left...(let's try to ignore that it is Hilary Duff)

OORRR...how do I get the soft, loose frizz-free curls along with the bangs without it looking crunchy. That's the main problem...I understand that I have to use some sort of something in my hair but everything I do to it makes it stiff or frizzy. Please help me...I'm kind of hair-challenged...so speak slowly and explain things well :) haha

Try to use some Extra Buff shampoo and conditioner. then STYLE TIME! Use a curling iron and then brush though softly then you could use like hair glitter or something what ever you want. Those celeb's are really pretty cause they got BLING BLING $_$ ^.^. well i hope u pick my advice as best heh

for the bangs... part your hair on the side and use a round brush brushing them in a sweeping motion from the top left of your bangs, to the bottom going towards the right.

You need to get that long layered hair cut. I would ask your stylist about a mouse or gel to use to hold the style. Probably should blow dry your hair and use a flat iron to get it nice and straight.

when you part it, try putting a dab of mousse on it, the more you train your hair to go that way, it will be a lot easier for you. good luck.
