You can get a lot of results by searching "how to create wavy hair" or "creating wavy hair" or "wavy hair styles," etc. From what I've read you need a curling iron, maybe 2" or 1" depending on how loose you want the waves, start from the root and use one hand to wind the hair around the iron while you hold the iron in the other hand. Hold the iron in there to heat it up for a couple seconds (up to ten I think?), then release, and spritz it with some hair spray.

Make sure you don't put too much hair in at one time because then the curling iron won't be able to distribute the heat evenly, but don't put too little, otherwise you won't get the desired effect and you'll end up frying a few strands. For fine hair, don't set the heat too high.

Since you have fine hair you might want to put some protective agents in it before styling, like heat-protection products. Heat will make very fine hair frizzy and wild. You could also use a silkening spray (something with silicone) after you finish styling to avoid the frizz, like Frizz-Ease or Fructis glossing spray.

Good luck with this! I have the most difficult stupid hair ever. It's too thick to stay no matter how hot I curl it so a few hours later it just falls out and is blah. You might have better luck.
