OK you need to thin your hair alot but it is more then that, you look like you have wave, so you will need to blow dry your hair with a paddle brush put some product in, then flat iron it then more product. Word of advice make sure you go to a deccent hair dresser for this cut!

u should get it thinned out. not too much layers then it would look tacky. but otherwise u would look pretty good.

If most of the pictures that are on the site you gave are considered choppy and layered then I would go with that. I think you do need to thin it out a little or find a better way to straighten it. In the back it looks very wavy still, unless that's the look you want. Your a cute kid! I'm sure if you go to the same hairstylist you usually see they can give you the look that's best for you.

Don't worry about dying it some other color - that's not an emo rule - and besides, you don't want to look like you're trying too hard, right?
Keep in mind, too -- the spirit of emo -- and you don't have to stress about your hair being perfect. That's the point. You can change your hairstyle (with product) every day if you want to - that's the freedom of an emo cut.
You'll need hair product, too -- not just the flatiron. You need something to smooth it out, make it glossy. There are a ton of products out there -- from John Frieda at the drugstore to your salon products and those at Sephora.
